It is with great pleasure that we announce our representation of Julianna Barwick. Barwick has garnered tremendous critical acclaim for her hauntingly beautiful and unique music. Her most recent album, The Magic Place, was included on the Top 10 of 2011 lists of NPR Music editor Stephen Thompson and Pitchfork editor-in-chief Mark Richardson. It also appeared on BBC Music Writers Top 25 of 2011 and the Village Voice Pazz & Jop Top 100 of 2011. Barwick’s most recent performances were in New York’s Guggenheim Museum, architect Philip Johnson’s “Glass House” in New Canaan, Connecticut, Southbank Centre in London for Yoko Ono’s 2013 Meltdown Festival and tour dates with the Flaming Lips and with Sigur Ros. Barwick will be releasing Nepenthe August 20 via Dead Oceans. The album, which was recorded in Iceland with producer Alex Somers (Jonsi, Sigur Ros, Alex & Jonsi), features instrumentalists from the groups Mum and Amiina with additional singing by a teenage vocal choir and Julianna’s mom.
